Nutrition support for disordered eating & body image

Take a moment to imagine if you…

  • stopped listening to diet culture and started listening to your body

  • felt connected with your body instead of at war with it

  • weren’t completely fixated on food and your body image

  • weren’t consumed by the fear of weight gain

  • valued your health and performance over your body shape

  • felt confident in your body without changing it

  • didn’t let your body image impact your self-worth

  • found value in yourself outside your appearance

  • let go of toxic food rules, self-doubt, overthinking and guilt

  • felt normal and in control around food

What would that life look life? How different would you feel day-to-day? How might your mental and physical health change? Is that life more comfortable, content, joyful, fun, exciting, adventurous, relaxing, fulfilling and free? Is that version of you stronger, healthier, less anxious, happier, confident and more engaged?

My guess is that the answer is yes to all of the above. It was for me and the hundreds of other people I’ve worked with, who felt just like you do now before they decided to stop letting food and body image consume their life.

“Every appointment feels like a safe, non-judgmental space where I feel heard and supported. She takes the time to really listen and tailor her advice to what works best for me personally, not just what looks good on paper. I always leave feeling encouraged, more confident, and empowered to keep working toward my goals.”

- Abby

She helps me focus on what actually matters; how my body feels and functions. She makes navigating a world of immense food noise significantly easier and I'm so grateful for her expertise. Not only is Zoe ED safe, she's also really kind and safe around trans stuff and AuDHD stuff. I recommend her to everyone I talk to who's navigating a difficult relationship with food.”

I am extremely passionate about supporting individuals to achieve a healthy relationship with food and their body. This passion has stemmed from my own experience with disordered eating, the impact it had on every aspect of my life and how immensely better EVERYTHING felt once I healed. You can read more about my experience here. My passion has continued to grow with every young person, family and adult I have supported to achieve the same over the last few years.

I have been recognised as a Credential Eating Disorder Clinician through the Australia & New Zealand Academy for Eating Disorders. This credentialing system was developed to “recognise qualifications, knowledge, training, and professional development activities needed to meet minimum standards for the delivery of safe and effective eating disorders treatment.” It allows individuals to identify specialised services to support them in healing their relationship with food and their body.

I work with people of all ages, genders, cultures and sexualities. Everybody in every body is welcome.

Sessions can be individual or family-based, depending on the needs of the client. This service is suited to anyone with a diagnosis of binge eating disorder, anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, ARFID, OSFED or UFED. Additionally, anyone who engages in disordered eating behaviours, has disordered thoughts about food or their body, has poor body image or body dysmorphia.

“Basically, if you want to feel more normal around food and neutral about your body instead of being consumed by body weight/shape/size and diet culture, this service is for you.”

Unsure if this is you? The Eating Disorder Examination questionnaire can help identify if you need support. If you would like to discuss your score, contact me and I’ll be more than happy to help. You can book a free 15-minute phone consult to identify what support is right for you.

Who is this service for?

Support tailored to you.

There is no one size fits all. My dietetic treatment approach differs depending on the individual, their eating disorder presentation and severity, supports available and engagement in other treatment. The most important and initial focus of treatment is to create a connection and build your trust so we can work together effectively. I aim to bring a lot of empathy and understanding to every session to create a safe, comfortable space to work through the challenges and achieve real food freedom and body neutrality. My personal experience with disordered eating combined with many, many hours of professional development have equipped me with the skillset to achieve this.

My support is informed by the following approaches & models:

  • Non-diet approach

  • Trauma-informed dietetic care

  • Neuro-affirming care

  • Body neutrality

  • Intuitive eating principles

  • HAES approach

  • Family-based therapy

  • RAVES model

  • Cognitive behavioural therapy

  • Externalising the eating disorder

Referral pathways

Referral pathways include:

  • Private full fee paying: Book directly with no referral needed.

  • Private health insurance: Book directly or see your GP for a private referral & claim rebates through your insurer.

  • Medicare Eating Disorder Care Plan: Visit your GP to discuss eligibility for an EDP to access 20 rebated sessions over a 12-month period.

  • NDIS either self or plan managed: Discuss with your support coordinator or plan manager whether you can access dietetic treatment through your current plan.

If you’re unsure which referral pathway to use, contact me and we can discuss the best option for you.

What my clients have experienced

She has helped me with understanding the true meaning of being healthy and that it has very little to do with the number on the scales.

Nicole

Zoe is compassionate and provides a very safe space to discuss and work through food related issues. Since working with Zoe I have experienced significant improvements in my relationship with food that I wasn’t sure would be possible when I first sought help.

LH

Zoe has also counselled me and helped me to remove unhealthy thoughts and ideas around food. But it always just felt like a chat with a friend which I love.

Logan

Zoe helped me successfully to work on my body image last year and I can now confidently say, that I love my body no matter how much I’m exercising, eating etc.

Dana

Zoe is amazing! She has really helped me improve my relationships with food and with my body. We aren't worried about how I look but more about how I feel and my health. I am so glad we've been able to work together.
